Human Factors and Applied Cognitive Science Research Centre
Mission
The proposed centre aims to conduct research in the domains of communication as it applies to a multitude of theoretical and applied domains such as consumer behaviour, language instruction, multimodal speech processing, etc. Material and digital human behavior manifested as communication, studied from interdisciplinary perspectives and diverse methodologies, comprises the focus of the centre. The establishment of the centre is relevant to today’s evolving digital and material landscape which both shapes and is shaped by human factors.
Objectives
Its objectives are to conduct interdisciplinary research, disseminate knowledge, and seek industry partnerships so as to build bonds between the society in which the University is embedded and the University’s output.
Role in KALTEV
As part of ODTÜ KALTEV, the research center will contribute to the advancement of knowledge in these interdisciplinary fields and provide evidence-based insights to inform public policy, industry practices, and academic advancement. It will also serve as a platform for fostering collaboration among various stakeholders to address challenges in the contemporary digital and offline human experience.
