What is ODTÜ KALTEV?
ODTÜ Kalkanlı Technology Valley (ODTÜ KALTEV) is a pioneering R&D and production hub that bridges entrepreneurs and academics to drive innovative technology solutions.
Established by the Middle East Technical University, it drives technology-oriented development in Northern Cyprus by fostering collaboration between academia, industry, and public institutions.

ODTÜ KALTEV aims to foster a research and production ecosystem that nurtures innovative technologies and transforms them into valuable products.
It unites academia, industry, public institutions, and over 100,000 students to collaborate and innovate in areas including sustainability, cyber security, renewable energy, advanced materials, smart systems, water and waste management, and development studies.

History / Relationship with METU
The idea of “ODTU does not have a Silicon Valley, but it has a Kalkanlı Valley!”
ODTÜ KALTEV was founded in 2016 to transfer ODTÜ’s 70-year-old R&D experience to Northern Cyprus, establish incubation centers, and create productive collaborations between researchers and industry.
